Recording
So this is technically my first blog. So I think I'll make it about what's been going on lately. I've been in the studio everyday recording for the album. I've been working with a few producers. One being Byron Gallimore (he does all of Tim McGraw's stuff). The other is Robert Ellis Orrall.. I've been in the studio with him lately. We tracked all the songs (did the instrumentals) yesterday and we're doing vocals today and tomorrow. Sometime next week we'll do back ups. After three sessions yesterday, me and Scotty Emerick did a showcase for a bunch of people from the Universal office in LA. It was at Scott Borchetta's house and everything went great. This whole week has been awesome. Really hard work is fun to me. And plus my parents made the mistake of giving me a video camera to take in and "document" things.
So basically I got to harrass everyone nonstop for 12 hours. The musicians, the engineers, Rob, interns.. everyone. It was awesome.
And the drummer, Shannon, kept doing Napoleon Dynamite voices in between passes. Which was very good for me. I liked that a LOT. And there's lots of times in between takes because the engineers and everyone had like a thousand levels to set, so I had alot of extra time. Me and the intern, Richard, made all these photo copies of our hands and stapled them together. Because when I'm bored, I am SO productive.
All in all.. everything sounds amazing. I'm pretty excited.

Everything going on...
So.. I haven't made a blog in a while. I've been reeeaallly busy and I love it that way. We're almost completely done with the album, maybe two vocals left to do. I've been working with Nathan Chapman, this amazing producer who's been producing my demos since I was thirteen. He quote on quote "gets me" and what I'm trying to say with my music. And I'm proud to say, thanks to Scott Borchetta, every song on this album are ones I've written. Not too many artists get to say that, and I thank God for putting me with people who love what I write, and have the courage to allow me to have that much creative freedom. I'm getting ready to do some pretty exciting things in the near future.. In a few days I'm getting on the bus and going to North Carolina to shoot a commercial.. Darryl Waltrip will be in it, and basically-- I AM EXCITED. I love my life. Seriously. And for all of you who are asking about release dates (besides the fact that I love you for being interested <3).. The single should be released in the end of spring, beginning of summer.. Album possibly in the fall. Thanks to everyone who's written to me, and if you're reading this, thankyou for your time.

ACMs --- Las Vegas
Hey!
So I just got back from Las Vegas. I was there for the ACMs, and I had an amazing time. Well, amazing for me is working constantly. So I was verrry happy with this trip. haha. My producer, Nathan, came with me to sing harmonies at some of the shows we were doing. His wife, Steph, and my mom also came.
On the way there, I was on the same plane as Sarah Buxton. She's a new artist on Lyric Street and we've written together before. I love her. So we had a delay in the Phoenix airport and were just sitting there... So I got out my guitar, then Nathan did, then so did her accompanist.. And we just started playing right there in the airport. Pretty soon people starting gathering around to hear us and we got a pretty good crowd going! I love stuff like that, it was so much fun. When we got to Vegas, we went to our hotel, the MGM.. It was the same one all the artists were staying at so it was awesome to see famous people walking around everywhere.
The next day, I had a radio interview and performance in the morning. Then I did what's called a radio remote. That's where about two hundred radio stations are all in one huge room set up at tables. All the artists walk around to each one and say what are called liners ("Hey this is Taylor Swift, and you're listening to _______!") and do interviews. It was amazing. I loooooved it because its just talking to people. I could talk to a door.
So then I had a fan performance for about 30 contest winners from different radio stations. I did that with Jack Ingram and Jimmy Wayne. They are both amazing, and Jack's probably my favorite guy singer out there right now. The next day, I had a fan performance at the House of Blues. There were a bunch of artists doing it.. Me, Jack, Katrina Elam, Trent Tomlinson, Trent Wilmon.. It went amazing, I had so much fun with that one. After that was an autograph signing, and everyone I met was really sweet.
Then at lunchtime was a luncheon that Big Machine Records had for people in the radio industry, it was at Studio 54. It was alot of fun, and the sound was really good there. After that I had to rush to get ready for the red carpet at the ACMs. When we got there, I walked onto the carpet and there were all these photographers taking pictures and screaming my name. It was probably the coolest thing EVER. haha. All of my favorite singers were on the carpet, and I was kind of in awe the whole time.. while doing about fifty interviews.
I had to leave before the show, but it was an amazing trip and I'm SOOO excited to get out on the road again. I'm so bad at sitting in one place. I love what I do, and I'm so thrilled about what's happening.
My single comes out June 19th. I don't think I've ever been this happy in my life.

The Road
Hello World,
So I've been on the road for the past few months, which might explain why I've been a little slow with returning emails! I'm so sorry about that, I WILL get to every one. I promise. I've been having sooooo much fun on the road, on radio tour and doing shows for whichever station calls needing someone to play. I have my little posse too now, Emily and Todd. Emily's my fiddle player, she's 21 and absolutely adorable. And it's awesome, after every show there's always a little group of people wanting her autograph. haha. She's THAT good. We like to be absolutely stupid and take pictures reflecting just that. Then there's Todd, my guitar player. He's great, does great harmonies.. And is hilarious. So we have fun going to various radio shows, doing semi-acoustic shows. I'm so excited, we're going to LA next week to play at the Whiskey a Go Go. It's LEGENDARY and we're all thrilled. Right now we're on the bus on the way to Knoxville for a show, and we're about to practice. More later!

We're in Des Moines, Iowa today, were in Omaha, Nebraska yesterday and Boise, Idaho the day before. When we landed at the airport in Boise, from Portland, Oregon this lady from our plane came up from behind as we walked down the terminal. She approached me and said "Taylor, I just love your song and want to wish you great things in you career." I looked and her and said "Well, THANK YOU!" and then said " who did you talk to?". (and then pointed to my Mom and the Label rep we were traveling with) I was convinced that one of them had talked to the lady on the plane and told her about me and my song. The lady said "neither one" and then I said "Well, how did you know who I was?" and the lady said "because I listen to radio and I watched your video". This was the first time someone had actually KNOWN who I was and MY NAME. wow. I just walked over and hugged her, and said ...."You're the first person who's ever done that, thankyou." It was an amazing moment to remember, and I always will.

I love all the girls who have my song on their myspaces. I love the people who come to my shows and put the pictures on here. I love the people at those shows who sing along with me. I love reading your stories in emails, some so touching they've given me chills. I love every single person who has wanted my autograph, because for the life of me I never really thought it would mean something to someone for me to write my name down. I love the little girls who stand in line with their mothers like I used to do. That was me. I love the couple who danced to my song at their wedding. Every comment, letter, and message. I love people who listen to the radio. I love every single person who is reading this, because you've let me into your life.
I love you all so much, I just wanted you to know.

Album talk
Heyy,
SO for the past couple of days I've been in the studio FINISHING my album. Oh yeah, I said it.. finishing it. That's means it.. is... DONE. At least my part is done, I've sung every vocal. They still need to mix and master it and do all that technical stuff that I will never understand. haha. So I'm particularly excited about a new song we recorded for the album, I've written every song on this album and this one is no exception.. But the funny thing is, I wrote it about twenty minutes before we recorded it. It just kind of fell out of my mouth and now it is in my cd player. haha. It's called "You Should've Said No" and it's about being cheated on.. dun dun dunnn... Yeah. I can't wait for you to hear it. Another song we did vocals on is called "Oh My My My" and I've played that for a few acoustic on-air interviews and at shows, so some of you might be familiar with it.. But it's about this couple that grows up together, and its the story of their adorable beautiful love. haha. Then I did vocals for a song called Cold As You. This song contains some of the best lyrics I've ever written in my life, and I just can't wait for this ALBUM TO COME OUT. Here's the hook: "And now that I'm sitting here thinking it through, I've never been anywhere cold as you".
AND I have some extremely exciting news which makes me love you guys even more. My video is now sitting at NUMBER ELEVEN on the GAC top 20! THANK YOU to everyone who voted, I can't even tell you how amazing that was to find out. Now we have to work on CMT.. haha. But you all are seriously so nice to me and I want you to know I'll always appreciate it.

First of all, thanks for evrything. You're so awesome, I love your comments. They're amazing.

Good Morning America!
I am SO EXCITED.
Not only does my album come out EXTREMELY soon (12 days, as of right now).. but I'm so so so excited because I get to go on Good Morning America the morning of Oct 24. I get to talk about the album and I am on a mission to meet Diana Sawyer. haha. I love her.
But anyway, I've been so busy lately with all the album premiere stuff, like all the online stuff.. It's been awesome. I have a show in LA in a couple of days opening up for Gretchen Wilson. She is awesome and so is LA so I'm pretty excited about that. Then I have a show on Halloween opening up for Jake Owen, and if anyone is wondering, yes I will be dressing up. And yes, I will look ridiculous. So if anyone feels like coming to Portland on Halloween, please show up. :-)
I can't even explain to you how much it means to me that you're reading this, I'll write more later about this album.. And how excited I am for you all to hear it! Buy it in stores October 24, I will love you forever. :-)

RASCAL FLATTS TOUR
Heyy guys, I have amazing news!! I just got the call today that I'll be opening up for Rascal Flatts for the rest of their tour. I'm SO excited and I can't even express to you how loud I screamed when I found out. I do have some bad news though, I'll have to postpone a show I was going to do in Westchester, PA. If you were planning on going to this show, I'm so sorry. I'll come back soon, I promise. Also, another awesome call I just got the other day is that I'm going to be performing a duet with Little Big Town (I LOVE them) for the GAC Special "Songs Of The Year", to be filmed November 5.
This has been SUCH an exciting time for me, my album comes out in 6 DAYS. October 24th. I can't even express to you how much it means to me that you all hear it.. Also, a little bit of insight just for you guys because I love you so much and you've been so awesome for so long.. In the album booklet where the lyrics are, I encoded secret messages into the lyrics of each song. It sounds really complicated, but its not.. all the letters of the songs are lowercase, except for random capitalized letters.. Put them all together, and you might find out some hidden messages about the song. Get it now?
I'm so thankful to you all for being here for me. Here are the Rascal dates coming up. Hope to see you there!

Happy Halloween :-)
Happy Halloween! I'm sitting at the airport in Portland, Oregon.. About to get on a red-eye flight (Oh yes, I just said red-eye. Meaning, all night. This should be interesting...) to Toronto, Canada for another weekend of Rascal Flatts shows. Tonight was awesome. It was a show in Portland at a bar called Duke's, I opened up for Jake Owen. And a little back-story, I've had his album on repeat for the past couple of months.. It's an amazing album and I literally cannot stop listening to it. I've got every line memorized, and if you see me on a plane.. Chances are, I'm listening to some song off that album, at a volume level that's probably going to cause long-term hearing damage someday. ANYWAY. I got to walk in on his sound check and meet him. Turns out he's extremely cool, and had bought my album on iTunes. :-) And since I had to leave after one song of his set, he played my favorite song "8 Second Ride" first. Which is another reason why he's awesome. And just to let everyone know, YES, I did dress up for Halloween. Yes, I stood onstage in an angel costume with huge wings (that really conflicted with my guitar playing). And I convinced my two guitar players Todd and Kevin to put on those little headbands with the devil ears attached. Haha. Oh yeah, it was great. It's so awesome playing to a crowd and seeing some people who know the words to EVERY SONG! I love that the album is out, and I love that y'all are listening to it. You guys are so awesome, and I really appreciate all of your comments. I love you all so much. Thanks for everything.

Decemberrr
Heyy,
It's almost December, which means many things.. It's going to get cold, everyone has Christmas decorations in full gear, and..... It's almost my BIRTHDAY. ha. My birthday is December 13. Yay. I'm just excited to be a year older! So much has happened in the past year, it feels like its been three. Thanksgiving was fun, interesting actually. One of my first times to have a few days off in a couple of months, which is weird because I love being on the road so much. On Thanksgiving day, I got to sing the anthem at the Detroit Lions/Miami Dolphins game in Detroit, and got to be on TV! haha. Then I flew to St. Louis to see my family. My family is great. We are loud, and there are alot of us. For me, the coolest part of the holiday was the fact that I found a Law and Order SVU marathon and watched like 19 episodes in a row til I was about to go blind and had sleep-deprivation. AWESOME. But seriously, I never get to watch tv anymore so it was nice to find THE show that I love. Then I was out again, doing more shows. Somewhere in this period of time, I got the news that I'll be opening up for GEORGE STRAIT starting in January, up until the tour ends in March. I'm SO excited!! I'm pretty much a George Strait superfan, so this is going to be SO much fun. I've been doing lots of shows lately, just got back from Utah (where it is very very COLD and my band and I drove in a huge 12-seater van everywhere, and I fell asleep with my mouth hanging open and they all took pictures of it) where we did a few shows which were AWESOME. I love people. Seriously. After every show, I sign until I've met everybody, and I can't even express how much I love the people I've met. Y'all are awesome. Thanks for everything you continue to do for me, it will never go unnoticed.

WIL St. Louis Show
Hey guys,
So I was rrreallly excited about a show I had scheduled for last week, the WIL Jingle Fest.. And I was in the airport waiting for the flight to St. Louis, when I got the call that the show would be cancelled due to weather. I was told they were going to reschedule, for Monday (which is today).. I was booked across the country for another show, so I hate it but I can't make it. I'm sorry to all the people who were planning on coming out, and we're working hard to make sure we come back to St. Louis as soon as we can. So for all of you who wrote me, thank you for your support and hang on to those signs!! ha. I want to see them WHEN I come back to do another show for yall. Thanks again and I'm sorry.

Merry Almost-Christmas!
Heyy!!
It's almost Christmas and I am NOT READY. I need to go shopping in a big way, but I never have any time. It seems like whenever I'm not on the road, I'm having to do a bunch of things to catch my life up from being gone so long, and then suddenly the day's over and I didn't have time to do things like... Christmas shop. But I'm not complaining IN THE LEAST, I've been having a blast. Oh, and just for my myspace peeps to know.. The next single after "Tim McGraw" will be "Teardrops on My Guitar", and we're planning out the video ideas now.. I have so many places I want to go with this song, so I'm constantly thinking about this video and how it'll look. But Tim McGraw's still climbing, so it may be mid-February before we release this next one. But as soon as I give the word, request away (pleeease). I love you guys, and how helpful you've been. Because of you, I can say I'm the first female to go top ten with a debut song since Gretchen Wilson did it almost three years ago. And it wouldn't have happened if yall hadn't requested "that Tim McGraw song.." on the radio every chance you got, bought the album, and been SO supportive. I love it. I'm so happy right now, and I can assure you no matter what I get under the tree, this Christmas will be a great one for me.
And it's all thanks to you.

MERRY CHRISTMAS our oven broke.
It's Christmas Eve.. Almost. And so far today, my mom and I spent the whole day preparing stuffing and turkey and everythinggg.. then.. Our oven broke. I'm not exactly sure what we're going to do about this whole ordeal, because apparently on Christmas it is absolutely necessary to have a turkey. But pretty sure our oven just broke. Ha. This should be interesting. See, I'd be perfectly content eating anything for Christmas dinner, it's Christmas. The food isn't what makes it awesome for me. And this Christmas is so much more special to me than any other, because I ultimately have already gotten what I wanted.. This. You to be reading this. People to care about my music, care about my lyrics, care about what I do, who I am.. If you're reading this right now, you CARE. And I guess I've realized recently that THAT is what I've always wanted. I'm sitting here signing pictures for people who've sent me things to sign and letters, and it hits me: This is THE BEST Christmas ever. And despite my mom's rantings about the dinner that could have been, I think she knows it too.
Yes, even though the oven broke.

:-)
